Seven/Seventy-Nine Video takes “Best of Show” Honors at 2018 CincinnADDYs Awards, February 23 at Newport Syndicate

Seven/Seventy-Nine co-founders Drew Money and Dan Phenicie accepted Best Of Show honors at Friday night’s CincinnADDYs with an internet spot called “Seat Hero – Stop Sitting On Towels” for client Chica Sport. Judges called the spot “an expert balance of fun visuals and straightforward copy, kitschy irony and clever storytelling.”  AAF Cincinnati hosted American Advertising Awards presentation Friday evening at the Syndicate in Newport, Kentucky. More than two hundred guests, representing every segment of the Greater Cincinnati advertising community, gathered at the Newport Syndicate to celebrate this year’s best of advertising creativity.

Of the 225 entries received this year by AAF Cincinnati in the annual CincinnADDYs competition – from 38 entrant companies and 22 students from 3 entrant colleges, there were 60 ADDY Awards presented to 14 agencies and companies and all 3 schools. The big winner this year in the professional division was POSSIBLE with 19 awards, 11 Gold and 8 Silver, many for their work for Procter & Gamble’s Febreze.  Northlich and Epipheo each accepted 4 ADDYs.  Judge’s Choice Awards were presented to Gravity Branding & Design for a sales kit created for client Phototype, to gyro for an advertising self-promotion entry called “gyro Book 2017,” and to Barefoot Proximity for “The Talk” cross platform campaign done for My Black is Beautiful.

BACKGROUND:

The American Advertising Awards, aka the ADDYs, is the advertising industry's largest and most representative competition, attracting over 40,000 entries every year in local AAF Club (Ad Club) competitions. Entering the American Advertising Awards supports the entire advertising industry, because the AAF and its local and district affiliates use the proceeds to enhance advertising through programs such as public service, internships, advocacy groups, advertising education, and consumer awareness.

The local first tier, known here as the CincinnADDYs, is the first part of a three-tier national competition. In 2017, Cincinnati entrants accepted three National ADDY Awards.
