Ad Capsule: Insights from AAF Member Margo Jacob

"Communicate-Don't decorate."

Engaging images. Decorative fonts. Interesting textures and colors. All are powerful elements of design that can be used to effectively communicate your message. However, showing constraint by limiting the amount of font families to no more than two (try one serif and one san-serif) is important. Purposefully selecting your textures, colors, and images will work to your advantage when creating a compelling message for your target audience. Timothy Samara said it best, "Communicate-Don't decorate."
