Sign Museum the perfect backdrop for AAF Reboot event

by Jeff Archiable, Archer Creative Media on September 5, 2017
Long before banner ads populated web pages, print ads filled newspapers, and commercials dotted television and radio programs, businesses relied on signs as their primary form of advertising. That made the American Sign Museum a great location for AAF Cincinnati’s recent Membership Reboot event.
“I think it was the perfect space for the event,” says AAF Cincinnati Executive Director Judy Thompson. “We’d been there before, when they were at Essex Place and just after they opened at the Camp Washington space. It was cool then, but they’ve added more. There is even more dazzle on Main Street.”
The evening marked the first happy hour event of the season. And like most AAF events, it was a fun gathering of creative and unique individuals.
“I think that’s what has always drawn me to the group. The group tends to be a little more creative, a little quirkier, a little more leading edge,” Thompson commented. “The people there are the kind of people that a lot of us enjoy being around. It’s a fun group for mingling – from those looking for their first job to the seasoned pros. And I think that’s kind of what our reputation has been throughout the years.”
The purpose of the event was to retain current members and to recruit new ones. While there are many benefits to joining AAF Cincinnati, one of the biggest benefits comes from the networking possibilities.
“It’s an unmatched networking opportunity because we are a horizontal organization,” says Thompson. “Our membership group includes ad agency people, both the creatives and the suits. We include clients from marketing departments, public relations departments and advertising departments. And we also include suppliers to the industry, as well as reps from digital, broadcast and print media.”
Make sure to check the AAF Cincinnati website often for more information on upcoming events and how you can become a member. Also check out the organization on Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn.
