Charlie in Charge! AAF Cincinnati Introduces New President.
Charlie In Charge!

When AAF Fifth District Governor (overseeing clubs in OH-KY-WV) announced that his “theme” for the coming year would be MAKE IT PERSONAL, he didn’t even know that our incoming President is a woman whose PERSONAL-ity is the perfect match to that theme.
Charlie (Charlaine) Martin applies the personal touch and a whole lot of energy to her current role in business development at Lightborne Communications. If you reside in Greater Cincinnati and work in advertising, marketing, branding or communications, it’s a good bet you know Charlie Martin! And if you don’t, you soon will.
A longtime member of AAF Cincinnati, Charlie began her career doing Marketing and Public Relations for professional theatre companies, including the Indiana Repertory Company, Syracuse Stage, and The Cincinnati Playhouse in the Park. Following that, she was the Account Representative and Director of Operations for Sound Images, a music and sound design company in Cincinnati. Charlie then went on to be the New Business Director for Sanger & Eby Design before assuming her current role at Lightborne Communications in 2018.
Before her election to president of AAF Cincinnati, Charlie joined the club’s Board of Directors as Programs co-chair under Mark Goodwin, our immediate past president. She had served on the 1988-1990 AAF Cincinnati Board where she chaired the ADDY committee and was also Treasurer. In addition, Charlie has served as president of Cincinnati chapter of Women in Communications, Inc. and the Mason-Deerfield Arts Alliance. She also worked with the Diocese of Covington to create the first Montessori elementary school in Northern Kentucky.
